Privacy Policy

SUMMARU is a mindfulness app for breathing, sound, and meditation. We built it to be as private as possible — no accounts, no tracking, no advertising. This policy explains the limited data that is involved in using the app.

1. Chat messages (Maru AI)

When you chat with Maru, your messages are sent to our server (summaru.app) and forwarded to Anthropic to generate a response. We do not store your chat history on our servers. Anthropic may process the content according to their own privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

2. Voice input

If you use the microphone button in Maru, your voice is processed by your browser's built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API). This is handled by your device or browser provider (e.g., Google Chrome). We never receive or store your audio.

3. Session data and mood

Your meditation sessions (duration, type, date) and mood selections are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

• No name, email address, or account information
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs
• No location data
• No analytics or behavioral tracking
• No data sold or shared with advertisers

Chat messages are not retained by us after Anthropic returns a response. Local session and mood data is stored on your device until you uninstall the app. Vercel request logs are retained per Vercel's standard policy.

SUMMARU is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
