When the weight of it all became too much to carry, I chose to put everything down. I left for somewhere I didn't know — a country, a language, not a single face I recognized. Call it running away. I just needed to exist somewhere no one expected anything of me.
In the quiet mountains of Numata, Japan, something that had been loud inside me for a long time finally went still. The resonance of a singing bowl was more than just sound. It was an anchor — something to breathe with.
SUMMARU began with a simple wish: to share that stillness with more people. So that even in the middle of a busy life, that quiet is just one tap away.
The Name

Maru · The Place
Maru — in the traditional Korean home, the wooden floor open to sky and breeze. The place where you remove your shoes, sit without agenda, and simply breathe.

Maru · The Peak
Maru also means summit. The crest of a mountain. The exact top of a breath — that suspended moment between inhale and exhale where everything, for just a second, goes completely still.

Soom · Wholeness
Soom (숨) — breath — carries within it the character for mind resting by itself (息: 自+心). When breath reaches its peak, the mind becomes whole. This is SUMMARU.
